Michael started nursing in 1968, working with Adults who had learning disabilities for four years. He then Specialised in Gerontology and worked with older adults for four years. He became a clinical nurse tutor, lecturing student nurses with involvement in clinical supervision and assessment for five years. He then took the post of a nurse consultant setting up clinical practices and recruiting overseas nurses for two years. Subsequently he became the deputy director of Nursing in a private hospital in the UK for three years, then changed to another private hospital where he was the deputy director/Director of Nursing for two years. In 1990 Michael opened Corrandulla Nursing Home where he has run the centre both as provider and PiC caring/nursing for older people to date.
Aishling started nursing in 2002 working as a D grade in a vascular / urology unit for adults. Following her Post grad in Care of the critically ill she became a Specialist E grade in the Vascular HDU tertiary unit (UK). Next she did her post grad in diabetes and became a F grade diabetes link nurse for the unit ensuring the amalgamation of vascular and endocrinology specialities for Diabetic clients. Subsequently she did her slice 2 to teach and assess student nurses within a clinical setting. During 2002-2006 she did bank/agency work where she worked within ITU, Cardio thoracic, respiratory HDU, and general medical/surgical units. Aishling came to Corrandulla Nursing Home in 2006 working as a staff nurse and nurse manager; she did her post grad in gerontology in 2010 and took up the post of PiC in 2011.
